Aid for entrepreneurs and companies operating in the Balearic Islands to cover opening fees, for the years 2024 and 2025.

The Conselleria d’Economia, Hisenda i Innovació of the Govern de les Illes Balears has launched a call for aid for entrepreneurs and companies with activity in the Balearic Islands to cover opening fees for the years 2024 and 2025. The objective is to facilitate access to finance and reduce financial costs arising from operations guaranteed by mutual guarantee societies.

This aid is aimed mainly at SMEs—including micro, small and medium-sized enterprises—as well as certain eligible large enterprises (those with up to 499 employees that have formalised financial operations for productive investment projects, provided they are carried out in centres located in the Balearic Islands).

Financial costs are subsidised for operations aimed at covering liquidity needs, productive investments, innovation and financial leasing (leasing).

The operations must be formalised between 1 December 2023 and 30 November 2025.

The call provides for three types of aid:

• Opening and assessment fees: up to 0.75% of the nominal amount of the operation.
• Guarantee cost: up to 100% during the first years, with percentage limits depending on the type of operation.
• Interest: a reduction of up to 3 percentage points on the interest rate, with duration varying according to the purpose.

The call incorporates a gender perspective and pays special attention to women entrepreneurs. It defines the “female entrepreneur SME” category and, in the case of productive investments, sets more favourable conditions for opening and assessment fees (+0.75% of the nominal amount of the operation versus 0.50% for other SMEs).
In addition, 100% advance payment of the subsidised amount is allowed without the need for guarantees, and co-financing with ERDF funds is envisaged in certain modalities.

The aid is managed in collaboration with ISBA, SGR, the entity responsible for processing, paying and verifying the proper use of the funds. The call has a total budget of more than EUR 18 million, distributed between regional and European funds.
