DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-ECAVA – ECAVA Secretariat

The DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-ECAVA call of the Digital Europe Programme funds the ECAVA Secretariat to strengthen the competitiveness of the European automotive sector and accelerate its digital transformation through AI, software and connected vehicles.

This call is part of the Industrial Action Plan for the European Automotive Sector and aims to support the operation of the European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance (ECAVA) through funding of its Secretariat. ECAVA acts as a strategic and advisory forum intended to coordinate and accelerate technological development and investment in software‑defined, AI‑enabled, connected and autonomous vehicles.

The Secretariat will ensure the day-to-day functioning of the Alliance, working efficiently and in close cooperation with the European Commission and ECAVA members. Its main responsibilities include organising the General Assembly, working groups, Steering Committee and Alliance Forum; supporting administrative processes; disseminating results; developing and annually updating the strategic roadmap; and providing expert knowledge, including competition law advice.

The action will be coordinated with the parallel initiative “Collaboration Platform for the European connected and automated vehicle of the future”, with which it must agree joint working mechanisms, ensuring complementarity between the organisational management of the Alliance and the technical coordination of joint developments.
