Ekintzaile 2026 – Aid for entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial companies for the maturation and launch of business projects supervised by BICs.
The purpose of this aid is to support the creation and development of new innovative and/or technology-based business projects in the Basque Country.
The Ekintzaile programme is a grant programme run by the SPRI Group – Business Development Agency of the Basque Government, aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship projects in Euskadi. It is designed to promote new innovative and/or technology-based business projects, as well as industrial projects or related services linked to the industrial product-process, during their idea-maturation and start-up phases.
The aid takes the form of non-repayable grants and is intended to support project development and the preparation of the Business Plan, both for initiatives driven by entrepreneurs (Line 1) and for intrapreneurship projects promoted by companies (Line 2).
Both lines offer comprehensive, flexible and personalised support, supervised by a BIC, from the idea maturation stage through to launch and, where applicable, the incorporation of a new commercial entity, with the aim of helping entrepreneurial ideas become viable business projects aligned with Euskadi’s productive fabric.
Types of eligible projects:
-
Line 1. Entrepreneurship projects driven by entrepreneurs
-
Up to €30,000 in non-repayable funding for business projects driven by individuals or newly created companies that are in the idea-maturation and start-up phases, and that are supervised by a Business Innovation Center (BIC).
-
-
Line 2. Intrapreneurship projects driven from within companies
-
Up to €30,000 in non-repayable funding, with a grant intensity of up to 70% of eligible expenses, extendable up to 100% in the event that a new company is incorporated within the project execution period. Aimed at entrepreneurship projects that arise within Basque companies, driven by an internal promoting team and focused on the creation of new business projects involving a diversification of the company’s current activity.
-
In both lines, all eligible expenses must exceed a minimum amount of €100, be directly linked to the project, and have the approval of the supervising BIC. As a general rule, expenses must be incurred after submission of the application and within a maximum period of 18 months from the award of the aid. Exceptionally, SPRI may accept certain prior expenses, provided they were incurred after 1 January 2026.
