FOND-ICO CRECIMIENTO

The Official Credit Institute (ICO) promotes FOND-ICO CRECIMIENTO, a public financing instrument managed through AXIS, the venture capital management company of the ICO Group. The fund is endowed with public resources from the State and aims to foster the development of the Spanish business fabric and job creation.

FOND-ICO CRECIMIENTO channels its resources through investments in venture capital funds, growth capital, and other private investment vehicles, as well as through co-investments with professional investors, under a public-private collaboration model. It does not provide direct financing to companies but acts as an institutional investor, participating in a minority and temporary manner in equity and quasi-equity instruments managed by specialized entities.

The fund's goal is to drive the creation, growth, and consolidation of Spanish SMEs, with a special focus on innovative startups and scaleups, providing alternative and complementary financing to bank loans. Investments target companies with innovative business models, technological base, or R&D component, that need resources to undertake innovation processes, national or international expansion, and strengthen their financial structure.

Mobilized resources are primarily allocated to innovation activities, acquisition of productive assets, and internationalization, excluding debt refinancing operations, shareholder replacement, or working capital needs.

Through this model, AXIS contributes to energizing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, attracting additional private investment, and improving the competitiveness of the Spanish economy, aligning public investment with sustainable growth and business development objectives.
