Grants for the promotion and consolidation of self-employment in Extremadura, years 2025–2026.

The purpose of the grant is to boost the creation, consolidation and maintenance of self-employment in Extremadura, with special attention to groups facing greater difficulties in accessing the labour market.

The Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation of the Government of Extremadura announces the Grants for the promotion and consolidation of self-employment in Extremadura, year 2025, with the aim of strengthening the regional productive fabric and ensuring equal opportunities in access to self-employment.

The call includes five action programmes:

Programme I finances the establishment of unemployed individuals as self-employed workers, with grants ranging from €6,000 to €9,000 depending on the applicant’s profile. Priority is given to women, men with disabilities, and groups such as young people, individuals aged 45 or over, long-term unemployed persons, or residents of municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. In addition, this programme provides an extra €1,000 when the activity is carried out in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants (provided the applicant is not already in the priority group for this reason) and an additional €1,500 in cases of business acquisition through generational succession. Both increases are cumulative if the conditions are met.

Programme II supports the incorporation of collaborating family members into self-employed businesses, with amounts also ranging from €6,000 to €9,000. As in Programme I, an additional €1,000 is available when the activity is carried out in municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants, provided the applicant is not already in the priority group for this reason. This programme aims to strengthen the continuity of family projects and facilitate the intergenerational transfer of activity, ensuring that the business remains over time and becomes a stable source of employment.

Programme III, known as Zero Rate, covers part of the Social Security or alternative mutual insurance contributions of new self-employed workers, with grants from €960 to €1,920. It is especially aimed at women returning to activity after maternity or adoption and at young people under 36, with the aim of reducing economic burdens during the first months of activity and preventing early abandonment.

Programme IV grants €6,000 to salaried workers who decide to start a self-employed activity. This programme encourages the transition to self-employment, supporting those who seek to diversify their professional path and start their own project while leaving behind exclusive dependence on salaried work.

Finally, Programme V grants an additional €2,500 to those who have been beneficiaries of Programme I and maintain their registration in RETA or mutual insurance for an additional 12 months. Its purpose is to consolidate the continuity of already initiated projects, ensuring that initial efforts translate into sustainable self-employment in the medium term.
