Rural Women Challenge Program
The Rural Women Challenge program is an initiative of the Women's Institute, which promotes entrepreneurship and the consolidation of businesses owned by women who live in rural areas, promoting innovation and promoting the competitiveness.
The general objective of the program is to energize the female business network in rural areas to overcome the gender gap in employment and entrepreneurship.
The Program is structured around four pillars, which in turn encompass the activities of the program, these being:
- Support and advice to entrepreneurs in the rural world. It consists of accompanying rural entrepreneurs in the process of creating and improving their businesses, ranging from the definition of the idea to the development of the business model and the evaluation of its viability.
- Promotion of entrepreneurship projects through dissemination, visibility and recognition. Dissemination of the entrepreneurial initiatives of the participants, also being a meeting point for them and rural businesswomen, where they can consult resources for entrepreneurship, regulations, etc.
- Creation of networks of entrepreneurs in rural areas. Through group sessions or thematic or sectoral meetings, the exchange of experiences, the use of synergies and the creation of a space for analysis and generation of knowledge among participants are encouraged.
- Specific training on entrepreneurship in the rural world. The Program offers, at no financial cost to participants, training courses on the development of business models and plans, marketing and digital communication, complemented by individual advice and group support sessions.
